Accreditations CHO CHEN Noise Barrier complies with Plastics Industry Development Center (PIDC)'s requirements and is recommended to be used wherever continuous barrier is needed for noise reduction. The relevant reports are available on request. Fabrication Drilling and cutting of CHO CHEN Noise Barrier may be done using typical woodworking tools. In order to minimize stress, which would result in subsequent cracking and even panel failure, the cutting tools must be sharp and heat build-up avoided. Wind Loading At the project design stage, the following should be considered: Installation Typically a correctly mounted 2x2M CHO CHEN panel should be able to withstand wind gusts of 160 km/hr (=1250N/m2) without permanent deformation or damage. This can be achieved with CHO CHEN Noise Barrier, for example, either 18mm panels with profiles on all four sides, or 20mm thickness with profiles on three sides. Thermal Expansion Same as most plastics, CHO CHEN Noise Barrier has higher thermal expansion than traditional building materials, typically is 0.6 ~ 0.7 mm/m degrees. The design of the mounting profiles must take this into account. In addition to this, the effect of cutting accuracy and tolerances and moisture uptake should also be considered. Typically an overall expansion of 5 mm/m should be allowed. |
